Beat Licensing

All beat purchases come with a full license to distribute, perform and monetize the song you make with the beat.

You will own 100% of the sound recordings of your song and 50% of the composition (publishing).

This means that you can keep all of your royalties from online distribution services such as Distrokid, CDBaby, Tunecore, etc.

You can register 50% of the composition of the song with your Performing Rights Organisation (PRO) eg. PRS, APRA, ASCAP, etc, The remaining 50% will go the beatmaker for the composition of the music. If there is more than one writer for the lyrics then you will need to split the 50% between the writers.

You can register 100% ownership of the sound recordings of any vocal versions of your song with your Neighbouring Rights Collective Management Organisation (CMO) eg. PPL, SoundExchange, SENA. The beatmaker should be listed as a “non-featured performer” in the role of “keyboards” and/or “drums

License Types

There are two types of licenses to choose from.

Exclusive License : If a beat is purchased with an exclusive license the beat is removed from sale and nobody else will be able purchase it.

Non Exclusive License : Beats purchased with a non-exclusive license will remain available. After 10 non-exclusive licenses the beat will be retired.
